The Husband: “You want to watch a movie?”
Me: “I can’t. I have to finish this book. It’s only been okay, but I’m almost to the end and I have to see if it redeems itself.”
The Husband: “Okay, I’ll just watch something with headphones.”
[***4.5 hours later***]
The Husband: “You want to watch a movie now?”
Me: “Maybe later. I’m almost finished with this book.”
The Husband: “You said that two movies ago.”
Me: “This is a new book. The other one did not redeem itself in the end so I consoled myself with buying a book from an author I know I like.”
The Husband, eyebrows raised: “And you’re almost to the end of that one?”
Me: “Yep, and it’s everything I wanted it to be and more. Give me 20 minutes and we can watch a movie.”
The Husband, eyebrows still raised: “Okay, don’t hurry on my part.”
Me: “Oh, I’m not.”
😂 … Has something like this ever happened to you??? I feel like only other readers will ever get this story. 😂
