I had a totally exhausting week at work! (Seriously, my to-do list was so long it could have stretched across the Atlantic and tickle the tip of Italy’s boot)
Needless to say, by the time Friday came, all I could think about was how grateful I would be to sleep in a little bit on Saturday.
… But then …
I started reading a new book.
The next time I glanced up at the clock, it was 1 AM.
Yes, I know what you’re thinking: “If you wanted extra sleep, woman, then why the heck did you start reading???”
These are the real dangers of being a bookworm.
… Bags under the eyes, an unhealthy quantity of coffee in the morning, and a growing suspicion that the time continuum splinters apart the moment you crack open a new book.
(For real: I swear that time crawls when I’m cleaning the house… But the minute I open a book, whoosh, it’s like Doctor Strange popped in and shifted everything around… although I have ZERO objection to Benedict Cumberbatch stopping over for any reason. That man’s cheekbones kill me every time I look at them!)
Non-readers don’t get it, but I know you do!
I’ve heard that nothing great was ever accomplished without great sacrifice… And since I know that reading is a great thing, I guess sleep is a reasonable sacrifice to make 🙂
What other sleeping disorder dangers stalk us bookworms???
Here’s my collection of the TOP reasons we never get enough…
