I was chatting with my grandmother the other day (one of the women who instilled that early-childhood love of reading in me) and the funniest conversation ensued…
Grandma: “I’ve been watching the greatest TV show!”
Me: “Oh, yeah. What is it?”
Grandma: “Oh, it’s this old show… I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of it before. It’s called Friends.”
Me: ….. [trying not to giggle and offend her] “Yeah, yeah, I’ve heard of it.”
Grandma: “I know it’s kind of silly, but the show is so funny! My favorite character is Ross… he’s just so awkward and I love that!”
… guess what I’m getting my grandmother for Christmas?
