Last night, in my kitchen, vodka was everywhere…
All over the floors, the counters, the walls, and—yes—the ceiling.
Everywhere, vodka.
(HINT: If you say that last line with a Russian accent, it makes it sound a lot cooler than the mess that it was… it tried it on my husband, who is the neat-freak out of the two of us. Alas, it didn’t work.)
I’ve been trying to learn how to make the perfect martini, but discovered a VERY IMPORANT element that was not listed in any of the recipes that I’ve read…
You know those two cups that bartenders fill and then clamp together before shaking up a cocktail?
That “Clamp Together” part? It’s a crucial step.
OR: Everywhere, vodka.
(Did you say it with a Russian accent this time?)
While my martini-making-skills may be somewhat sub-par (I’ll let you know how it goes), my reading habits are as fine-tuned as a NASCAR engine. Armed with that bit of know-how, I set out to weed through all the new books hitting the shelves this month and bring you a list of the ones I’ve found most exciting (that I can’t wait to pick up and read for myself!).
And I’m thinking most of that reading will be done while sipping a martini…
Here are the 5 books that made the short list (in no particular order): |
